Discover how nervous system informed bodywork can help your horse achieve greater comfort, balance, and well-being.
I specialise in nervous system informed bodywork. Through using a combination of gentle manual techniques and guided the horse through some non-habitual movements help your horse release old tension patterns that no longer serve them.
All of my sessions are guided by your horse, through assessing their behaviour, movement, and physiological responses, sessions are tailored to the individual horse, allowing their nervous system to naturally shift towards balance rather than being forced into change.
Guided by the horse
Each session is tailored to your horse's individual needs, ensuring they feel safe and understood.
Achieve balance
Our goal is to help your horse achieve emotional and physical balance, leading to a happier life.
Addressing common challenges
Many horse owners seek our help for a variety of issues. If your horse is reactive, anxious, shut down, easily overwhelmed, unbalanced, struggles to relax and focus, or feels disconnected, my nervous system informed bodywork can make a significant difference. We also assist those looking to develop healthy posture and build a deeper connection with their horse from the start of their journey.
Helping owners to understand their horses in a different way.
Horse owners often come to us seeking solutions for re-occurring tension patterns, nervousness, stress, and anxiety. We help horses who are unable to carry out ridden work comfortably, seem "off," feel unbalanced, strong, or disconnected. Our methods aim to resolve these underlying issues, leading to a more comfortable and willing horse.
What to expect during a session
A typical bodywork session begins with me getting to know you and your horse, understanding your story. I then introduce touch, always guided by your horse's comfort level. Some horses prefer space to move, while others are content in their stable. I ask that the horse is not tied, I do like them to have a headcollar and lead rope on as this helps me to gently guide them, helping them become aware of any tension they may be holding during movement.
I do encourage movement throughout the treatment, whether in a stable, manage, or yard, as this helps the horse feel and consolidate the changes within their body. I explain what I am doing and welcome your questions. After the session, I provide homework suggestions and encourage you to keep in touch with updates on your horse's progress. Written notes and recommendations are also an available option.
